‘Innovation is stepping into ambiguity’. Early this morning, I came across this definition and I had this ‘aha moment’! It resonated so much with my understanding of it and the work I do around creativity, systeminnovation and sustainable entrepreneurship. Because it’s just like that: in order to thrive, we need to step into the unknown and hold the tension between clarity and ambiguity, the known and the unknown.

Ambiguity is the topic of our time and we tend to have strong discomfort with it. But it doesn’t have to be this way. There are mental models and communication strategies to ‘organise’ the chaos;).
